I first learned about my next guest a few years ago at the 2018 AATA conference in Miami. I was talking with a colleague about my plans to create this podcast and consultation business and they asked if I had spoken with Briana MacWilliam.
Nope. Had not even heard of her. My colleague highly encouraged me to look her up to see how she had been able to develop a successful online platform as an art therapist. Then another colleague asked if I had heard of her. Then my last graduate student intern told me she had Briana as a professor and said, "everything she had to say was GOLD!" With that endorsement, how I could I not check her work out!
I found her Instagram page @brianamacwilliam and was blown away. I have been following her ever since. Honestly, when I reached out to invite her to be a guest I didn't expect her to respond AND I am soooo happy that she did.
Briana MacWilliam is an author, educator and licensed and board-certified creative arts therapist with more than 14 years clinical experience, helping adults with insecure attachment styles go from self-doubting to self-sovereign, and call in the “soul-shaking” passionate partnerships they want, without years of talk therapy, and no results. She has also published two textbooks on the topics of attachment and complicated grief, and working with LGBTQ populations. Currently, she maintains a small practice, but primarily offers courses online in self-help and personal development, as a love and attachment coach. She’s also the director of continuing education for Pratt institute’s creative arts therapies department.
