EMBODYING FLEXIBILITY
As a small business owner, there are only so many hours in the day to accomplish all the tasks. Most days may be
so full that anything extra that pops up will assuredly cause delays and add extra hours to the workweek. In order
to preserve my life force energy, I have had to become intentional in how I respond
to these pesky interruptions. The more my businesses grow, the more interruptions seem to happen.
Responding to these with intentionality might mean
cancelling or rescheduling meetings or tasks. Other times, it means
putting the interruption on the backburner until I can get to it. Or it may mean
putting in the trash
or filing under the
tasks to do when Ideal Conditions exist list.
It is so easy to feel overwhelmed by it all. But
if I do that, I will get caught in freeze
and not take any action at all. Thus creating more overwhelm. A viscous cycle causing personal suffering.
What I have learned over the past 10 years is
I need to embody a state of flexibility in order to progress forward. Here is why:
